Thank you for you interest in supporting the BC Interior RV Show. Please find this package as our invitation to support a fantastic event in the Interior. We are planning for thousands of patrons to visit the event and we will be honoured to have you as one of our Hosts. Below we have outlined some elements that relate to being a volunteer at the event, they are guidelines; general details; and rules & regulations put in place to contribute to your smooth volunteer experience.

Volunteer Orientation:
The details on the Volunteer Orientation will be at 6:30 pm on Tuesday March 24th at the Salvation Army Gymnasium - 2469 South Main Street Penticton.

Public Show Details:
Friday, April 3rd: 12:00 pm (noon) – 9:00 pm
Saturday, April 4th: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
Sunday, April 5th: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Volunteer Shifts:
Each volunteer shift has been organized to be approximately 4 hours with a 30-minute overlap between shifts.

Volunteer Roles:
For this show, we only have one role – you are a “Host” for the BC Interior RV Show and will greet patrons and sell them $5 wristbands which will gain them access to the full complex or verify already existing wristbands. Volunteers will work in pairs, with one volunteer handling the $5 per wristband and the other Host attaching the wristband. As guests arrive, if they are already wearing a wristband, please verify that it is attached securely and has not been reattached with glue, staple or tape.

The $5 Wristband:
Each wristband will allow the person full weekend access, to all of the venues, during the above noted public hours. I will also allow them to attend any or all of the educational sessions or workshops. Guest who have a securely attached wristband may come and go from the event at any time, through the Guest Services doors of each venue. HST is included in the $5 weekend access fee. Wristbands are NOT transferable, so be sure to attach the wristband securely and remind the guest to not remove it and try to reattach. The net proceeds from these wristbands will be donated to the Salvation Army, so will all of the non-perishable food items collected each day.

Volunteer Reusable Vest:
Each volunteer will receive a BC Interior RV Show reusable Vest for use during their shift. Please only wear vest while you are working your shift. Based on the advise of past volunteer surveys, it was recommended that a reusable vest with no event year is more efficient use of community funds. The vests are one-size fits all. Be sure to wear a light jacket under the vest. If you wish a t-shirt - we have a few remaining from previous years that all volunteers are welcome to take home at the end of your shift.

Please Dress Warm:
Although it is springtime, it may still be a bit chilly at the entrances of each venue – so please dress warm. Be sure to wear your volunteer t-shirt overtop of your other layers – so the guests can clearly see that you are a Host for the event.

Check-in & Relaxation Room:
The BC Interior RV Society has arranged to use the Boardroom for Volunteer Check-in and Relaxation Room for Volunteers to visit. Coffee & tea are provided complimentary, but please be sure to keep the room clean. This room is intended for short breaks during your shift. Please do not leave any valuables in the room. The BC Interior RV Society and its community partners are not responsible for any lost or stolen items brought to the site.

Your Access to the Event:
As part of our appreciation of your time, as long as you are wearing your wristband – you are welcome to come and go from the show – Enjoy!

We ask that all volunteers be dropped off at the venue or park behind any of the venues. Please leave all available parking at the front of each of the venues for the patrons who will be visiting the event.
