The OSNS Child & Youth Development Centre provides early intervention therapies and services that are designed to enhance the abilities of all children including those who are developmentally at risk throughout the South Okanagan and Similkameen regions.

These services make an extraordinary difference in the lives of the children and families. Our young children receive child-focused, family-centered and community-based programs including:
- speech/language
- occupational therapy and physiotherapy
- child psychology
- family support services
- autism treatment services
- multidisciplinary assessment and
- a specialized preschool.

Our specialized preschool is an inclusive integrated preschool program where children with special needs join together and learn in a social environment along with their typically developing peers. This helps children to learn and grow to their fullest potential. They gain an understanding and acceptance of individual differences and, as they play together, learn how much they have in common with each other. Kinderplace is proud to integrate the safe spaces, anti-bullying program into their curriculum.

Funding for the Centre is provided through a combination of provincial government resources and community based fundraising activities including our annual Shaw Share-a-Smile Telethon (held in November) and our Harley Davidson (tickets available now) and Theo’s at 10,000 (tickets available in the summer) raffles. OSNS is also consistently supported by many South Okanagan/Similkameen businesses and community service groups throughout the year. This community support forms a crucial partnership that makes a difference in the lives of children and their families.
